The project “Underneath the Leaves – The Invisible Network” by Alexandra Ross shows how an artistic idea can gradually develop into an extraordinary woven textile.
Realized in cooperation with TextielLab Tilburg on a DORNIER P2 Jacquard weaving machine, the work makes use of DORNIER rapier technology to flexibly integrate and combine a wide variety of yarns and materials within the weaving process. This allows even unconventional material concepts and complex textile structures to be translated precisely into woven form.
The video follows the journey from the first sketches to the final multi-layered textile and shows how DORNIER weaving technology contributes to the realization of sophisticated and unconventional textile concepts.
