Die construction
The dies play a central role in the heart of our film stretching lines - the oven, also known as the TDO or transverse stretching machine. Depending on requirements, they are manufactured in one or two parts. Their main task is to ensure that the heat in the oven is evenly distributed from above and below.
Thanks to their precise positioning and ingenious design, an even temperature distribution is created in the oven - an important prerequisite for ensuring that the film can be optimally stretched during the so-called stretching process. During the stretching process in the transverse stretching machine, the plastic film is stretched in the transverse direction at a high temperature, does making it thinner and more stable. This gives the film exactly the properties that it later needs for high-quality packaging, for example.
A single die can be up to 11.5 m long. This enormous size shows just how powerful they are: They are crucial for ensuring that the film is processed evenly at high temperatures and achieves the desired properties.
