Welcome to the Composite Systems Technology Center
Under the name DORNIER Composite Systems®, DORNIER offers machines and systems for processing fiber composites. The materials produced are light, stable and versatile – and are used in cars, airplanes and sports equipment, to name just a few.

Nice to know
A composite is a fiber-reinforced plastic that consists of a fiber material and a matrix (binder material). Each component on its own can have different properties – but when combined, a new material is created that is particularly light and at the same time very stable. It is precisely such materials that are used, for example, in aerospace and aviation, automotive engineering and sports equipment.
Because they combine the best of two worlds: For example, glass fiber (fiber material) alone is brittle and resin (matrix) is soft – but together they create an extremely robust material that has similar properties to steel while being much lighter. This saves energy and material, for example in aerospace and aviation or motor sports.
Fiber-reinforced plastics are produced (tape production line) and processed (weaving machines) on our machines and plants. The fiber material is precisely woven together and then further processed. The result: a tailor-made material with exactly the desired properties.
Composites have become indispensable in many areas today. They demonstrate their strengths in vehicles and aircraft, for example: lightweight, stable and versatile. Want to know more? Just keep scrolling.
Applications
The versatile areas of application for our composite systems
Our machines and plants from DORNIER Composite Systems® produce materials that are used in many different areas. These materials are particularly strong and lightweight at the same time - two properties that are important in many industries. For example, they are used in the aerospace, automotive, mechanical engineering, medical technology and sports industries. Our products help to make things more stable and lighter at the same time, which is an advantage in many areas where high performance and reliability are required.
