Lindauer DORNIER GmbH welcomes 19 new trainees and dual students

At the start of the 2025 training program, Lindauer DORNIER GmbH welcomes 19 new DORNIER talents. They represent the next generation of skilled workers that the company relies on. Among the young talents there are also five external trainees form Lindau-based companies who will complete their basic metalworking training at DORNIER. Supporting young people and providing them with the highest level of training is a key concern of the Lindau family business and at the same time an important contribution to securing the need for skilled workers in the region.

This year, international DORNIER talents are starting their training on Lake Constance again. With targeted international recruitment, the company repeatedly succeeds in attracting young people from different countries to train in Lindau. “These young people are taking on a major challenge – linguistically, culturally, and professionally. In the past, this commitment has proven its worth many times over: the international trainees contribute valuable perspectives and expertise and develop into valued specialists in our company,” explains Martin Kaeß, Head of Training at DORNIER. To further build on this strength, DORNIER relies on exchange formats and its presence with partners abroad, such as in South Korea, and additionally supports trainees by providing affordable housing in the form of company apartments.

Just in time for its 75th anniversary, DORNIER has opened its new training center. State-of-the-art machines, tools, and workbenches as well as a dedicated CAD workroom are available in a space covering more than 1,000 m². There, trainees and dual students learn both classic skills such as turning, milling, and grinding as well as how to use control, electrical, and robot technology – always accompanied by experienced instructors.

On October 16, the training center will be presented to the general public for the first time as part of the DORNIER Talents Day. School students and their teachers, parents and interested parties can get an idea of the modern training conditions on site and talk to those responsible for training. This underscores DORNIER's commitment to not only invest in the future of its own skilled workers, but also to offer young people in the region orientation and perspectives. At the beginning of the training in 2025, DORNIER wishes all trainees a good start, plenty of motivation and success, and an informative and exciting time.
