Lindauer DORNIER GmbH held its Talent Day for the third time, and this year there were two reasons to celebrate: the family-owned company is celebrating its 75th anniversary and at the same time opened its new training centre, which can accommodate 75 trainees and dual students in future.

More than 250 young people and interested adults took the opportunity to find out about the wide range of apprenticeships and dual study opportunities at DORNIER. There was particular interest in the new training centre, which combines modern machines, tools and practical learning environments. Here, trainees and trainers presented the technical professions at various stations. Visitors were able to experience the commercial professions in a playful way in a specially developed escape room. ‘Our goal is to provide young people with state-of-the-art training while instilling in them a passion for innovation, teamwork and shaping the future,’ explains Head of Martin Kaeß commercial and technical Training. The new training centre at the Lindau site is a clear signal of the importance of promoting young talent in the company's 75th anniversary year.

In addition to talent from the Lindau region, DORNIER also focuses on international young professionals. In this way, the company combines its strong regional roots with a clear global orientation and emphasises its international training profile. The company recruits worldwide and offers exchange programmes at its own branches in the USA, China and South Korea. In South Korea, DORNIER works with its own trainees to promote training opportunities in Lindau and specifically recruits new talent there. Trainees can also take part in exchange programmes in Norway, where they gain valuable international experience in partner companies.

The afternoon offered plenty of opportunity for discussion: pupils and parents talked to trainers and trainees as well as to students who reported on the dual study programme. In between, interactive stations attracted visitors with small giveaways and competitions. Burgers and drinks in the newly built Maja Dornier-Park provided a relaxed break before the day ended with a demonstration of DORNIER weaving machines in the technology centre.
