Ready for the future — Apprenticeship starts at Lindauer DORNIER GmbH

09/07/2020

On September 1, 2020, 19 young people (industrial mechanics, mechatronics technicians, cutting machine operators, construction mechanics, electronic technicians for industrial engineering, machine and plant operators and industrial clerks) started their training at DORNIER. Four of them are students at the Ravensburg Cooperative State University (Duale Hochschule Ravensburg), studying technical and commercial subjects.

In addition, four trainees from external companies in the Lindau district receive their basic metalwork training in the DORNIER apprentice workshop.

The first days of training were dedicated to getting to know each other. After visiting the Lindau and Esseratsweiler plants and gaining an initial insight into the respective departments, the newcomers could familiarize with company and training specific processes. Practical exercises illustrated the aspect of teamwork.

At DORNIER vocational training is given very high priority. The family business based in Lindau attaches great importance to suggesting solution-oriented working methods to the trainees, which not only help them in their professional life but also provide them with sound tools. In addition to achieving the training goals, DORNIER focuses on team-oriented and practical training.

Within the next 2 to 3.5 years, depending on the choice of career and studies, Lindauer DORNIER will accompany their trainees in an intensive training, in order to promote their abilities such as specialist knowledge, commitment and skill. "Only with well-trained and motivated employees are we able to meet the future and high challenges of the global markets", says the Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Hans-Jürgen Schmidt.
