DORNIER take-up systems are very rigid and solid machines in order to avoid any vibrations. Roller disassembly is easily possible. The first roll on a DORNIER take-up system is a measuring roll which serves to regulate the tension of the film between the transverse stretching machine and the take-up system. All rolls of a DORNIER take-up/transfer section are independently driven (film guide rollers, cooling rollers, corona rollers and press rollers) and the drive can be executed by torque motors or by asynchronous motors. The take-up systems for PP, PA and polyester film are equipped with one or more corona treatment stations. Flame treatment for BOPP film is also available. The nip rolls, which are installed at the inlet and exit of the take-up system as well as nips rollers of the corona treatment equipment, are rubber coated.
The second thickness measuring device to measure the thickness of the final film is also installed in this unit. Apart from that, the clipped film edges are separated on both sides in this station. The second and third rolls are normally water-cooled. It is however also possible to water-cool the rolls fitted after the corona rolls. The diameter of the rolls depends on the film width. DORNIER delivers take-up systems for final trimmed film widths up to 8,700 mm. These take-up systems are available for manual threading or with an automatic belt or chain guiding system.
