Casting units

DORNIER supplies casting systems for polypropylene, polyester and PA film production. The largest casting unit so far supplied by DORNIER was equipped with a casting drum with a diameter of 3,400 mm.

DORNIER casting systems are very solid and sophisticated in order to avoid any vibrations which would lead to thickness variations in films. DORNIER casting units are movable supported in horizontal direction for PP and PET and vertical adjustment of the casting drum is possible for polyester film production. For polypropylene film production, the casting drum is fitted in a water bath.

Casting units can be easily equipped with a second cooling drum as flexible extension or, optionally, with a take-off and reversing roll.

Excellent drive accuracy characterizes both optional drive systems - either with torque motor or with two drive motors (with one working as brake motor).

DORNIER casting systems can be supplied with solid die frames and with pinning systems. Wire or band pinning systems can also be supplied on request.
