Drying technology
DORNIER dryers - the guarantee for high product quality and low energy consumption. Many products such as cardboard for the packing industry or wall elements for the construction industry require one-off drying during the manufacturing process or heat treatment before they are ready for use. Thanks to the experience earlier aircraft engineers gained in fluid dynamics and heat technology, DORNIER was already able to offer the first drying plant in 1954. Since then, both the products as well as the manufacturing process have enjoyed continuous new and further development resulting in reliable drying systems up to 100 meters in length and realized to meet specific customer demands. Application areas At the beginning, DORNIER dryers and heat treatment machines were designed for paperboards and cardboards. The application range was soon extended to include filter layers, leather fibers and bonded fiber fabrics. | A dryer with special through-air convection system has been applied for thermobonding of air-laid nonwovens, e.g. strengthened after the thermobonding process. At the start of the Eighties.. ...DORNIER was successful in adapting the dryers to the construction panel industry demands. Very different board types - gypsum for walls, ceiling tiles, softwood panels to dampen impact noise on floors or ecological insulating boards belong since then to the application spectrum for DORNIER drying plants. The development finally led to foaming ovens where extruded flat films made of PE or PP are transported and heat fixed in one width up to 3 m without contact on an air cushion. Such products are then offered to the final consumer as, for example, camping mats in the leisure sector. One of the latest developments is aimed at products where it is advantageous to dry or heat treat these using industrial microwave energy. |
